Medical translation and interpretation

Written translation, certified document translation and spoken interpretation serve different purposes. The receiving institution determines its requirements.

Ask before commissioning work

Confirm the accepted language, which records need translation and whether particular certification or qualifications are required. Not every document automatically needs full translation. Ask a physician to explain unclear medical wording; automated translation is not a substitute for professional verification of important medical information.

Research appropriate qualifications

Authorities may have specific requirements for certain documents. The official state justice administrations’ database helps identify sworn or authorised translators and interpreters. A listing is not this portal’s recommendation and does not automatically establish specialist medical experience. Ask about expertise, confidentiality and secure transfer.

Medical conversations and consent

Ask the hospital how interpreting is handled and who may participate. Findings, risks, alternatives and consent should be explained understandably. Discuss fees and appointment conditions directly with the institution or independent language provider. Our team helps with interpreting and communication. The clinic determines the language support and qualifications required for each conversation. Certified document translations and specialist requirements must be clarified separately; medical explanations and informed consent remain the physicians’ responsibility.
