Medical technology

Medical devices can support diagnosis and treatment. Availability, benefits and risks depend on the institution, procedure and individual situation.

MRI and CT

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) produce cross-sectional images. CT uses X-rays and MRI uses strong magnetic fields. Medical indication and safety assessment are essential.

Endoscopy and minimally invasive procedures

Endoscopy examines certain body areas using optical instruments. Minimally invasive procedures often use smaller access points; they are not suitable for every situation.

Robot-assisted surgery

Robotic systems can support physician-controlled instruments in selected procedures. They do not operate independently or guarantee a better outcome.

Radiotherapy and planning

Radiotherapy uses ionising radiation for selected conditions. Imaging and planning help define treatment. The treating team explains the specific options.
